The conversational MAZATROL SMART CNC system is designed for easy operation and programming plus high reliability. Additionally, the SMART system can utilise both EIA/ISO format program codes and conversational programming.
The SMART can be quickly programmed by the operator on the shop floor thanks to the conversational programming method. Machine setup is easy thanks to the quick displays on the management screen.

SMART features include:
	"QWERTY" Keyboard A QWERTY keyboard is standard equipment providing the same data input operation method as a PC. The previous CNC model did not have a full keyboard which required more time to enter data.
	Rotary Dial Switches Rotary dial switches allow an operator to detect override and axis selection by feel during machine setup and operation.

Mazak has been continuously developing the innovative MAZATROL conversationally programmed CNC system since the introducing the the MAZATROL T-1 in 1981. In addition to simplified programming, the MAZATROL provides easy setup, fast completion of the first part and conveniant machine maintenance.

EIA/ISO

EIA/ISO program operability

The MAZATROL SMART G-codes are the same as used by conventioanl EIA CNC system machines. This allows programs made for other manufacturer’s machines to be used after editing M-codes and T-codes and confirming axis strokes and cuttting conditions.

The standard equipment SMART menu keys can be used to minimise the number of displays in order to reduce the time required for programming
The type of programming to be performed is selected by menu key. After the selection is made, only neccessary displays will be shown to simplify programming and program editing.

The MAZATROL SMART can be quickly programmed by the operator on the shop floor thanks to the conversational programing method. All steps, from programming to 2D tool path checking can be done in the background during automatic operation. Shop floor programming eliminates the cost and time of conventional systems requiring programming performed in an office. Additionally, machine stup is easy thanks to displays such as the chuck jaw, tailstock, Z-offset and chuck barrier data on the setup management screen.

Simplified programming for inexperienced users

A wide variety of automatic functions of the MAZATROL SMART makes it possible for inexperienced operators to easily make machining programs by answering questions displayed conversationally about the workpiecedrawing such as: type of material, outer diameter dimensions, inner diameter dimensions, material length and others.
Intersection coordinates, tool index positioning, optimum cutting conditions, optimum tool path and machining processes are automatically calculated according to the input data. Since the number of program lines is considerably smaller when compared to EIA data, programs are quickly and easily checked and edited.
